Looking Back at San Diego and Forward to 2027

The WPSA Annual Conference in San Diego was the most successful since our conference was held there in 2019 and one of the most successful ever. In total, the conference included 946 proposals, 1190 participants, 270 panels, 62 posters, 3 Wednesday workshops, 3 mini-conference, and numerous special events and receptions. But the numbers do not begin to convey the energy and excitement that was felt at the conference. It was a good meeting!

We expect a similarly strong conference next year when we meet in Denver, Colorado, for the first time since 2003. The city has changed considerably in those twenty-four years and offers a welcoming location for a conference. Late March can be especially beautiful in Colorado and the conference will be held in an attractive, well-designed Hyatt hotel. Denver is easily reached from cities across the country because of the large number of flights in and out of the Denver International Airport. We also have the lowest guest room rates in several years. The conference will be held from March 25-27, with the pre-conference workshops on March 24. The Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center is the conference hotel. Please join us!

We will begin to accept proposals for papers, panels, and other forms of participation this summer. We will be sending out an announcement when the proposal form becomes available, but don't hesitate to check the website just to be safe. The deadline for proposals is September 25, 2027. In the meantime, check out the Call for Papers:

"The One Place I Always Felt Supported"

Luis Fraga, the Joseph and Elizabeth Robbie Professor of Political Science at Notre Dame University, gave a moving talk about the Western Political Science Association after receiving the Betty Moulds Lifetime Service Award. The talk captured an essential element of the association to many members. Please watch.
